Friday July 18th welcomes not one but two of the biggest names in electronic dance music from down the years to do their thing in the amazing surroundings of the Box at Ministry of Sound for yet another world class, cutting edge Gallery.
BT or Brian Transeau as he’s known to his nearest and dearest is one of those once in a generation musical magicians. BT’s just as comfortable behind a mixing desk working on one of his critically acclaimed albums as he is laying vocals over an epic trance track for friend Tiesto, or penning a film score for Hollywood blockbusters such as The Fast and the Furious.
His albums have included ‘Movement in Still Life’, ‘10 years in the Life’, ‘Emotional Technology’ and ‘This Binary Universe’ whilst cult singles have included ‘Godspeed’, ‘Flaming June’, ‘Blue Skies’, ‘Force of Gravity’. He’s also provided guest vocals himself on Tiesto’s ‘Love Comes Again’. Other notable film scores include Zoolander, Lara Croft, Gone in Sixty Seconds, American Pie, Go and Monster to name but a few!!! This really is a rare opportunity to catch the man with the laptops put in one of his trademark DJ sets on an exclusive visit to these shores.
Hybrid have forged a reputation as leading producers which have seen them collaborate with artists such as New Order's Peter Hook, The Pretender's Chrissie Hynde and the 90-piece Russian Federal Orchestra, as well as remixing over 40 artists including Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, Carl Cox, BT, The Future Sound Of London and Moby. Famed for classic cuts like ‘Finished Symphony’, the Hybrid duo return to The Gallery for an exclusive main room DJ set and boy oh boy are we sure the Box is in for a treat.
Serge Devant is another name on the march hailing from the States he has rapidly built a name for himself both as resident dj for the Crobar but also as a producer and his recent remix of Sweet Harmony has seen everyone from Pete Tong climb aboard the Devant train as it gathers apace. Seriously one to watch he will be joined by Gallery resident John Askew to toughen it up towards the Gallery hands in the air finale! Gavyn Mytchel gets it going early doors with his usual warm up perfection and audio delectation for all to saviour.
Over in the bar is a welcome return to The Gallery to the man known as Luetzenkitchen. The producer of huge underground anthems such as Daily Disco and Zombie he is a name that has been on the rise in the last 12 months and with a string of productions to his bow. Joined by fellow co-hort Swen Weber and rising star Timo Garcia this is a session in the Bar that promises to be another memorable one for all the right reasons!
