Sad news.
They would be better off approaching the other consultant though who could gain full access to his medical records to make an objective decision rather than an emotional one.

Saw this on FB. Aren't they dragging their heels over operating because he is really fat or something?
The risk of morbidity in a very overweight person who has already had a stroke is extremely high.
Objectively, he doesn't sound like a suitable candidate for surgery.

I never knew him but wish him the best.
Hand in hand is the only way to land
And always the right way round
Not broken in pieces
Like hated little meeces
How could we miss
Someone as dumb as this

He is heavy, yes, but the operation his kids want him to have has been done on guys much heavier than him and they've survived. The issue is Basildon Hospital are reluctant to move him for the surgery done at St Thomas because he LIVES in Essex.

I've seen the FB posts.
I don't want to speculate wildly, but I can't help but think that there must be more to this than meets the eye. My aunt was recently in Basildon Hospital and had her surgery done in St Thomas'. She also lives in Ongar. For this reason I am certain he is not being refused surgery based solely on where he lives.
